Robert Harmon �Bob� Wilson, 91, of 111 Loblolly Circle, husband of Doris Gieser Wilson, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013 at his home. Born in Garrard County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Robert Anderson Wilson and Minnie Robinson Wilson. Bob was a U. S. Army veteran of WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post 20 and the V. F. W. He was a bank examiner for the F. D. I. C., was a member of the Chamber of Commerce in Illinois and was a member of New Covenant Church in Greenwood. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family and was preceded in death by a son, Keith Wilson. Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are two sons: Gary Wilson and his wife, Anna, of Highland, IL and Jim Wilson and his wife, Debbie, of Ashland, IL; a daughter, Kitty Braaten and her husband Matt of Greenwood; five grandchildren: Catherine Wilson, Robert Wilson, Michael Wilson, Grace Braaten and Isaac Braaten; and a great grandson, Jack Henry Wilson. The family respectfully request that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to New Covenant Church, 1507 Woodlawn Road, Greenwood, SC 29649, Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 West Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646 or to the Samaritans Purse ( www.samaritanspurse.org ).
