Bobby Eugene Ashley, 58, of 128 Ashleywood Road, McCormick, husband of Gail Edwards Ashley, died Sunday, November 30, 2014. Born in Anderson, he was the son of Jessie Crawford Ashley Townsend and the late Frank Max Ashley. He was employed by Greenwood Mills � Harris Plant and attended Troy United Methodist Church. Bobby enjoyed spending time with his family, but most of all, his beautiful grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of the home, two daughters, B.G. Craig and her husband Barron of Bradley and Heather Starbuck and her husband Matthew of McCormick; a son, Kevin Ashley and his wife Charley Ann of McCormick; a sister, Judy Samples and her husband Tiny of Cross Hill; two step brothers, Robert Townsend, Jr. and his wife Bobbie and Curtis Townsend, both of Hodges; three brother-in-laws, Roger Edwards and his wife Mary Lee of McCormick, Merle Samples of Chappells, and Lanny Gooch of Laurens County; three sister-in-laws, Diane Stribling and her husband Mike of Ninety Six, Vera Courson and her husband Terry of McCormick, and Jane Ashley of Greenwood; a mother-in-law, Avis Spence Edwards; five grandchildren, Johnathan Craig, Cheyenne Craig, Destiny Craig, Hunter Starbuck, and Jasper Ashley; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Gooch and Betty Samples; two brothers, Danny Max Ashley and John Wesley Ashley; and a father-in-law, Roy Alfred Edwards, Jr. Memorials may be sent to the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention by visiting
