Robert "Bobby" L. Bartless, Sr, 78, of Greenwood, husband of Vicky Dobbins Bartless, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.
Born on August 21, 1946 in Macon, GA, he was a son of the late Charles Scott Bartless, Sr. and Ree Campbell Bartless.
Bobby spent his career in maintenance at Greenwood Mills. Beyond his career, he was a true collector at heart, with a unique passion for nutcrackers that showcased his vibrant personality. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, working diligently in his yard and workshop, where he found peace and creativity in crafting. Bobby's devotion wasn't only to his hobbies; it was to his family above all. A man who loved deeply, he cherished every moment spent with his family, particularly his grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy.
As a man of unwavering faith, Bobby was a proud member of First Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, where he contributed as a former deacon and a member of the Joy Sunday School Class. His faith served as a cornerstone throughout his life, guiding him in his relationships and commitments.
In addition to his wife, Vicky of the home, he is survived by his children, Robert "Robby" L. Bartless, Jr. (Chip) of Rock Hill, Kelly Sherrill (Steve) of Lancaster, and Joseph "Scotty" Bartless (Magen) of Hodges; brothers, Eddie Bartless and Henry Bartless (Lita); and grandchildren, McKenzie Sherrill, Connor Bartless, Emma Bartless, and Campbell Bartless.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Scott Bartless, Jr.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Adkins officiating. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends before the service from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
