John Brant Rodgers, 54, of Greenwood, husband of Jennifer Griffin Rodgers, received his miracle in the arms of Jesus on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Greenwood, he was the son of Jane Pope Harvey and the late John "Johnny" H. Rodgers, Jr. Brant was formerly employed with Bilo and Wal-Mart. He was a lifelong fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks and enjoyed spending his younger years playing video games, football, and baseball. Brant attended both Restoration Ministries and Brookland Baptist Church. He had a love for life that resonated with everyone around him and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Brant's profound love for family was demonstrated through his practice of sharing scriptures from the Bible with his loved ones. He loved listening to his audible Bible daily and his favorite verse, John 3:16, was a guiding light in his life, echoing his deep faith and compassion. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life"
Along with his father he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Miley Harvey; father-in-law, Daniel Griffin; and niece, Regan Griffin.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home and his mother of Hodges are his son, Tyler Scott Rodgers; sister, Kim Marlowe (Kenneth); brothers, Robert Rodgers (Sha), Steven Rodgers and Chris Harvey (Amber); mother-in-law, Vickie Fern (Walt); sister-in-law, Crystal Brown; brothers-in-law, Chris "Bubba" Griffin (Lacey) and Jonathan Brown; two nieces; and seven nephews.
Services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Rabon and Rev. John Gunter officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Rodgers, Chris Harvey, Robert Rodgers, Alex Rodgers, Austin Rodgers, Ben Rodgers and Richie Allen.
Honorary escorts will be Hayden Harvey, Grayson Harvey, Collin Marlowe and Brayden Marlowe.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-7pm.
