Obituary

Kenneth Britton Rice, of Greenwood, beloved son and father, passed away on February 4th, 2024, at the age of 50. Born on October 10th, 1973, in Athens, Georgia, his warmth and zest for life touched the hearts of all who knew him.

Known to his friends and family as "Britt," he was a man of many talents and passions. After earning his associate degree in computer science and repair from Piedmont Technical College, he joined Anderson Heating and Cooling, where he found fulfillment and joy working as a certified HVAC technician.

Away from work, Britt delighted in tinkering with various projects, often exploring his talent for stone carving and bronze art. He also had an insatiable love for music, which played a prominent role in his life. Gardening was another area where he excelled, nurturing vibrant landscapes, and growing almost anything that he set his mind to. An advocate for an organic lifestyle, Britt embraced the beauty of nature and cherished his time spent outdoors.

A true sports enthusiast, Britt had an unwavering love for the Atlanta Braves baseball team. Whether he was cheering them on from the comfort of his home or attending games, his passion for the game was contagious. In his leisure time, Britt enjoyed the thrill of golfing, the agility of tennis, and the freedom of skateboarding.

Above all else, Britt loved God and adored his family. He leaves behind his loving mother, Mary Rice, and his four cherished children: son Jackson, and daughters KaeliAnna, Lainey, and Raelynn. Their bond was unbreakable, and his legacy of love and devotion will live on within their hearts forever. He also leaves behind many special family members, Nancy Ann Hank, Phyllis "Cookie" Hilliard; uncle, Bill Butler; and special friend, who was like a brother to him, Jesse Hilliard.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth L. Rice; uncles, Bobby, Mike, and Chuck Butler; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Robert Butler (Sue); and fraternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth M. Rice (Virginia).

A private graveside service was held at Oakbrook Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Joey Butler, Chris Butler, Robbie Butler, Andy Anderson, Andrew Wood, and Andrew Walker.

The family asks that you please keep them in your thoughts and prayers along with his beloved children during this difficult time.
