Obituary
Wayne W. "Buck" Walters, 65 of Greenwood, beloved husband of the late Janice Faye Henderson Walters passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Laurinburg, NC, he was the son of the late Wade Hampton Walters and Salley Caviness Walters. Buck was an Army airborne, paratrooper and demolition specialist with the U. S. Army and retired after 21 years with the Greenwood National Guard where he received a National Defense Service Medal. He worked for Flexible Technology, was a member of the American Legion Post 20 and also a member of the volunteer fire department community for 30 years. Buck was a member of Lowell Street United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Adams.
Surviving are two daughters, Melissa Looper and her husband, Jim, of Hodges and Melody Oliver of Columbia; a sister, Katherine McDaniel and her husband, Alton, of Dillon, SC; and grandchildren, Jackson Alexander "Yackie" Looper of Greenwood, Taylor Hancock, Rey and Kayden Oliver, all of Columbia.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to HospiceCare of the Piedmont, 408 West Alexander, Greenwood, SC 29646.
The family is at the home of 207 Keels Road West, Hodges, SC.
