The Reverend C. Eugene Hancock, 81, of 129 Saluda Street, died Friday, December 10, 2010 at Hospice House, Greenwood. Born in Calhoun Falls, he was a son of the late J. C. and Minnie Barnes Hancock. He attended Ninety Six schools and Lee University, Cleveland, TN. Rev. Hancock served as a Church of God pastor for 42 years, serving a number of churches throughout South Carolina, retiring from the Winnsboro Church of God. He was a member of Ninety Six Church of God and the Men�s Sunday School Class. Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Myra Wells Hancock, of the home; two daughters, Avis Scruggs and her husband, Terry, of Greenville, Karen Howard and her husband, Rick, of Chester; two sons, Don Hancock and his wife, Pat, of Six Mile, Phillip Hancock of Lockhart; a sister, Juanita Goldman of Ninety Six; a brother, the Rev. Howard Hancock of his wife, Naomi, of Baltimore, MD; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
