James Calvin Woods, 80, of Greenwood, died Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at his home. Born in Mc Cormick, he was a son of the late James Harvey and Johnnie Louise Boles Woods. Calvin retired from Greenwood Mills after 42 years of service and was in the Quarter Century Club. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Nora Sims, Kate Woods, Daisy Martin and Ethel Woods; and four brothers, Sloan, Joe, Harry and Wallace Woods. Surviving are two daughters, Tammie Barrett of Waterloo and Kathy Chaves (Kevin) of Hilo, HI; a sister, Jane Wreden (Derrick) of Orangeburg; a brother, Luther Woods of Batesburg; two grandchildren, Kevin Barrett of Waterloo and Coleman Chaves of Hilo, HI. Also surviving is his wife. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials may be made to HospiceCare of the Piedmont, 408 West Alexander Ave, Greenwood, SC 29646. Family members are at their respective homes.
