Carl Broome, 65, of 9301 Hwy 246 South, husband of Sherry Hall Broome, died Saturday, December 21, 2013, at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Washington, GA, he was a son of the late Clyde Broome, Sr. and Mozelle Beckworth Broome. Carl retired from Southern Brick., he served in the U.S. Navy, and was a Christian. Surviving is his wife of the home; two daughters, Leann Black (Nick) and Jennifer Broome, both of Greenwood; three sons, William Carl Broome of Washington, GA James Carl Broome (Amanda) of Chapin, and Justin Parker (Trish) of Hodges; a beloved dog, Sammy; five sisters, Lula Bell Howell of Athens, GA, Amelia Ivey of Boiling Springs, Mary Harris, Lucy Harris, and Reba Howell, all of Washington, GA; three brothers, Johnny Broome (Rachel) of McCormick, Robert Broome and Paul Broome (Lisa), both of Washington, GA; 14 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde Broome, Jr. and Hugh Broome. Pallbearers will be Mike Isbell, Roger Isbell, Danny Harvley, Gary Turner, Tolbert McCarty, Danny Hall and Taylor Hall. Honorary escort will be Dr. Michael Bryant, Dr. Dan Robinson, David Ouzts, Dennis McFarland, Rabun Cole, Randy McFarland, Dr. Shekar Kumar and Marion �Red� Randall. The family is at the home.
