William Carl Butler, 78, of Greenwood, husband of Juanita Jackson Butler, passed away Friday, October 4, 2024.
Born in Ridge Spring, SC, he was a son of the late James William "Bill" Butler and Margurite Edwards Butler. Carl was a U. S. Navy veteran. He retired from Fuji Photo Film and enjoyed spending all his free time with family. Carl was a devoted husband of 58 years and a loving father, grandfather, and a cherished friend to many. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he generously shared his time assisting with the Boys Troop.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Ray Butler and Thomas Edward Butler.
Surviving in addition to his beloved wife of the home are his daughters, Carla Blaxton (Johnny) and Renee Morton (Stephen); sisters, Mary B. Perry, Sylvia Peele and Betty Ann McCarty; brother, Jimmy Dean Butler; and grandchildren, Amanda Blaxton and Miles Blaxton.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Kevin Hembree officiating. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Blaxton, Gary McGuffin, Kelly King and A.J. Hembree.
The family will receive friends at the church before the service from 12:00 noon- 1:00 p.m.
The family is at the home.
