Carl Edward �Speedy� Childers, 80, of 31 Lois Lane, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at his home. Born in Marion, SC, he was the son of the late Alma M. Childers and Credie Sivedge Childers. Speedy was an independent electrician until his retirement and was a member of Shade Tree Revival Baptist Church. He loved to ride his Harley and sip his Peppermint Schnapps. Surviving are his children, Teresa Louise Childers, Carl Edward Childers, Jr., Helen Bentley, Jerry Grey, Dwayne Childers, Jessica Brown, all of Waterloo, Donnie Childers and Christy Welch (David), both of Gastonia, NC; a brother, Charles Childers of Gastonia, NC; and ten grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Laurens County, PO BOX 178 Clinton, SC 29325. The family is at the home.
