Carl Bland Hamilton, Jr., 54, of 101 River Valley Drive, Hodges, died Saturday, October 29, 2011. Born in Greenwood, he was a son of Carl Bland Hamilton, Sr. and Esther Ransom Hamilton. He was a graduate of Strom Thurmond High School, Edgefield and received an Associate�s Degree in Computer Technology from Piedmont Technical College, attended Lander College and Prince George�s Community College, Largo, MD and was earned numerous certificates in the computer technology industry. He worked as a page and staff assistant for Senator Strom Thurmond from 1973 to 1975 and worked as a computer systems analyst. He served in the US Marines and was a member of Red Oak Grove Baptist Church, Modoc. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hubert and Pearl Ransom, A. F. �Buddy� and Melba Hamilton. Surviving are two brothers, Barry Hamilton and his wife, Jill, of Flowery Branch, GA and Brad Hamilton and his wife, Stacy, of New Orleans, LA; aunts, Jo Owings and her husband, Jon, of Greenwood and Kathy Ransom of Columbia; his beloved friend, Susan �Bunny� Wash of Hodges; nieces and nephews, Kristin, Morgan and Abby Hamilton, all of Flowery Branch, Lauren, Kristina, Olivia and Tyler Hamilton, all of New Orleans. The family is at the home of Jo and Jon Owings, 106 Johns Creek Road, Hodges.
