William �Carl� Nabors, Sr., 79, of 202 Millionaire Rd, widower of Dorothy Tyler Nabors, died Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at his home. Born in Greenwood, he was the son of the late Drayton Oscar �Bud� Nabors and Margaret Nickles Nabors. Carl was a graduate of Greenwood High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran during the Korean Conflict, serving aboard the U.S.S. Missouri, BB63 and Lst 225 Bricken Ridge Country. He was also a U.S. Air Force Veteran during Vietnam where he was assigned to 4083d Strategic (SAC) Group, Apo 23 New York, New York and 4061st Air Refeuling Wing Malmstrom A.F.B. Mont, and was the recipient of several awards and medals. He was a graduate of Gene Autrey Tech School in Enid, OK, Master Electrician course. Carl retired from Fluor Daniels Construction Company, Monsanto Site and Champlain Petroleum Company. Carl believed in the Bible and attended several churches in the area, where he was told many times that he was sitting in someone else�s seat. He was avid reader and an avid dancer. He enjoyed all of his friends at The Dock and Stokies. Carl was preceded in death by brothers, Oscar Lee �Buddy� Nabors, Drayton Nabors, Billy Carlton Nabors, Robert D. �Bobby� Nabors, James Franklin �Jim� Nabors, Albert Lee Nabors; his sisters, Elizabeth �Sam� Vines, Gladys �Irby� Ouzts, and Martha �Frank� Pickell; a dear friend, Sandra Bolton and granddaughter, Chasety Brooke Nabors. Surviving are three sons, William Carl Nabors Jr., Mark Steven Nabors and wife Julie, and Anthony K. �Tony� Nabors; a daughter Chris Ouzts and her husband Jerry; a sister Bernice White of Greenwood; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
