Carol Steffensen Johnson, 84, of Emerald Gardens, widow of Robert M. Johnson, died Monday, July 15, 2019 at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was a daughter of the late Sigvald W. and Emma Jacobsen Steffensen. Carol was the former music director at Christ Lutheran Church in NY. She enjoyed playing golf and was a member of Parkland Golf Club. Carol was a very active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Surviving are two sons, William M. Johnson and Ed Johnson (Julie) both of Greenwood; a sister, June Hagen of Astoria, NY; four grandchildren, Brittany, Trevor, Lacy and Tatum Johnson; and a great grandson, Waylon Avery.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Rusty Kehl officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
