Carol Juanita Rikard, 83, widow of Bennie Rikard, Jr., died on Thursday, September 19, 2024.

Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Clifford Howard and Retha Chandler Cantrell. Carol retired from DHEC and had also been formerly employed by Monsanto, Kemet and Union Carbide. She was the first administrative assistant to be employed by the Greenwood Eye Clinic.

Carol's hobbies included traveling, with her favorite destination being the beach, cross stitch, gardening and helping to raise her grandchildren. She was an avid reader and was a member of Augusta Highway Baptist Church.

Carol is survived by her children, William O. "Moe" McQuerns (Shirley), Suzanne M. Driver and Mary Beth Cornay (Mike); grandchildren, Krystal L. Brown, Jeff Driver (Hailey) and Corbett Cornay; bonus grandchildren, Billie Jo Wooten, Kevin Baldwin and George Spencer; nine great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Services will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday at Augusta Highway Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenny Griffin and the Rev. Randy Ouzts officiating. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.
