Carolene Grooms Hipp, 65, of 44 Ridgewood Cove Road, Waterloo, wife of Wayne Hipp, died Monday, October 16, 2017 at Roper Hospital in Charleston.
Born in Waynesville, NC, she was a daughter of the late James and Annie Morgan Grooms. She received her associates degree from Cecils Business College and was a computer programmer at Sprint. She was a member of Cedarwood Community Church, where she was a member of the Happy Hearts Sunday School Class.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are her children, Richard Hipp of the home and Tracy Hipp (Shelly) of Atlanta, GA.; stepchildren, Carol Hammett (Wayne) of Inman, Vicki Smith of Clinton, MO., and Christi Kirtley of Kansas City, MO.; two sisters, Di Waite of Grey Court and Nancy Henderson of Pelzer; a brother, Steve Grooms (Sandra) of Irmo; seven step grandchildren; and seven step great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday at Cedarwood Community Church with the Rev. Clint Carter and the Rev. Ervin Stutzman officiating.
Honorary escort will be members of the Happy Hearts Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
