Virgie Carolyn Brown, 82, of Hodges, SC passed away peacefully on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.

She was born January 17, 1941 in Spartanburg County, to the late Vernon Lee Hall and Luria Holbert Hall. Carolyn was a simple lady and enjoyed living a simple life. Carolyn liked to play cards with her family and friends, she loved bird watching and enjoying the peace and quiet.

She is survived by her children, Dwana Mackie (Ed), Donna JoDella Pressley (Tim), all of Hodges, Kelly May (Robert) of Ozark, AL, and Tim Brown of Greenwood and a sister, Kay Hall Boswell of Ninety Six; five grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, Thomas Russell Brown; a brother, Dupree Hall; sisters, Frances Hall Weaver, Ruth Hall Smith, Joanne Hall Simpson, and Linda Hall Adams; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Restoration Ministries, 2507 US-25 South, Greenwood, SC 29646, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. the church with Pastor Kenneth Rabon officiating.
