Carolyn Riser Rhodes Hurlstone, a resident of Greenwood, SC, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at NHC Greenwood Skilled Nursing Facility.

Carolyn is survived by her sons, Olin Eugene Rhodes, Jr. and Mark Wellington Rhodes, as well as her daughter-in-law, Katherine Shugant Rhodes.

Carolyn was born in Waterloo, SC on February 21, 1939, daughter of Mildred Allie Fennel Riser and Ernest Carol Riser. She graduated from Laurens High School in 1957 followed by a two-year degree in business from Piedmont Technical College. She was a church secretary for the Greenwood First Presbyterian Church for twenty-three years and an active volunteer for Hospice for many years. Carolyn attended both Rehoboth Methodist Church and Marshall Chapel Baptist Church. She was a woman of strong faith and spirituality throughout her lifetime.

A visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Harley Funeral Home and Crematory.
