Catherine Ann Kenning, 76, of Savannah Lakes Village in McCormick, SC, passed away on May 20, 2026, in Greenwood, SC.

Born in Chicago, Illinois on May 22, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Jean Kuczora Neises. 

Cathy had a passion for nurturing the minds of young children, serving as a pre-school teacher and assistant for many years. An avid reader, she enjoyed a good book paired with a glass of wine. She had a special affinity for Christmas, often filling her home with the sounds of Christmas music, no matter the time of year. She loved getting comfortable and watching the Hallmark and Lifetime channels. Cathy's spirit and kindness will be remembered by all who knew her. 

She is lovingly survived by her husband of almost 55 years, Richard Kenning; son, Matt Kenning (Kelley Schultz) of Pittsboro, NC; sister, Mary Rog (Ted) of Plainfield, IL; brothers, Dan Neises (Debbie) of Bluemont, VA, Jim Neises (Donna) of Fox River Grove, IL, and Mike Neises (Mary Rose) of Palatine, IL; grandson, Casimir Allen Kenning of Pittsboro, NC; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Robbie O'Donnell (Bob) of Tinley Park, IL; and brother, Marty Neises (Ann) of Naples, FL.
