Cecil Chapin Lowe, 87, husband of Shirley Smith Lowe, died Thursday, October 21, 2021 at his home.
Born in Pelzer, he was a son of the late J. P. and Alta Bowling Lowe. Cecil served in the US Air Force and retired from Lance, Inc. He was a dedicated member of South Main Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and was always involved in mission work.
Cecil is survived by his wife of the home; a daughter, Yvonne Van Camp of Myrtle Beach; two sons, Steven Lowe (Ruby) of Chester and Brad Lowe (Shirley) of Carriere, MS; a sister, Martha Tribble of Greenville; grandchildren, Rachael Kelly, Brandy Riccelli, Summer Lark, Lance Lowe, Jacob Riccelli, Kyle Lowe, Kevin Lowe, Evan Lowe, Brandi Snipes, Derek Ingram, Blake Lowe and Olivia Kirkland; 17 great grandchildren; a special nephew, Ronnie Lowe (Janice) and many other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Clifton Kent Lowe; a granddaughter, Crystal Cumbie; a daughter-in-law, Shay Lowe; a son-in-law, Bill Van Camp; a sister, Ruby Godfrey and two brothers, James Lowe and Roy Lowe.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at South Main Baptist Church, 1000 Main St South, with Dr. Toby Frost officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Ninety Six.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Honorary escort will be members of the Adult 3 – Chapel Class of South Main Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
