Charles Richard Allen, 78, of 102 Alma Street, husband of Martha Ann Timmerman Allen, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Hospice House. Born in Ware Shoals, he was a son of the late O. K. and Inez Hughes Allen. He was formerly employed by Greenwood Mills and Daniels Construction and served in the SC National Guard in Ware Shoals for 12 years. He was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. Surviving is his wife of the home; two children, Danny Allen (Gloria) of Honea Path and Judy Edwards (Ray) of Greenwood; a brother, Elmer Allen (Sue) of Ware Shoals; six grandchildren, Stacy Wideman, Tonya Noffz, Jamie Allen, Wendy Slay, Cory Edwards and Tracey Sutley; and ten great grandchildren, who were the apples of his eye; four half sisters and four half brothers. He was preceded in death by a loving brother, Cecil Allen of Greenwood; sisters, Shirley Kay of Greenville and Doris Robinson of Columbia and a precious great grandson, Stephen Wideman.
