Charles Wesley Pritchett Carter, 80, widower of Elaine Fowler Carter, died Monday, February 7, 2011 at Mayfare House in Kilmarnock, Virginia. Mr. Carter was the son of the late Hiram David and Katherine Redford Carter. He was a retired U. S. Navy Lieutenant with 20 years of service and a millennium member of the National Rifle Association. Surviving are two daughters, Carter Prillaman of Weems, VA and Barbara Carter of Richmond, VA; four stepchildren, Vickie Diane McElhannon Johnson, Franklin Carroll Norris and wife, Vickie, Alan Norris all of Greenwood, Joe Norris and wife Joyce of Columbia; daughter-in-law, Sara Gaye Norris of Greenwood; and ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Daroll Norris. Pallbearers will be Brian Walters, Walt Echols, Chad Echols, Jamey Norris, Austin Rhodes and Joe Mooney.
