Charles Lester Easler, Jr., 87, of Saluda, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Hospice and Pallaivate Care of the Piedmont.
Born in Saluda County, he was a son of the late Charles Lester Easler, Sr. and Bertha Mae Butler Easler. He retired from North American Carbide after twenty years and was one of the original owner and operators of Easler's Variety Store. Charles was an US Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Sandridge Baptist Church, where he was a bell ringer.
He is survived by his children, Charles "Chuck" Easler (Barbara), Janet Buenzow (Roger) ,both of Diamondhead, MS, Beverly Rena Easler of Ray City, GA, James Brandon Easler (Paula) of Valdosta, GA, , and John Chadwick Easler (Lisa) of Valdosta, GA; brothers, Melvin Easler (Diane) of Ballground, GA, Eugene Easler (Katie) of Greenwood, and Wayne Easler (Gloria) of McDonough, GA; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Annette Easler and Willette Easler.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9th at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Marty Dorn officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Honorary escort will be members of Sandridge Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
