Charles Lewis "Booty" Sipe, 86, of Lakewood Drive, Greenwood, husband of Shirley Cox Sipe, died Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.
Born in Cherryville, NC, he was the son of the late Junius Floyd Sipe and LaVenia Kiser Sipe. Booty was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 20 where he played baseball. He was the owner and operator of Metal Fabricators of Greenwood and was a member of Harris Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a son, Tony Sipe; and a brother, Douglas Floyd Sipe.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are a daughter, Virginia Marianne Goodman of Greenwood; a daughter-in-law, Ann Sipe; two grandchildren, John Paul Goodman, III (Jessica) and Kaitlyn Nicole Goodman; two step grandchildren, Sam Stevenson, III and Meg Hembree (Ray); two great grandchildren, Kiersten McKinley Goodman and Jaxson Paul Goodman; and a step great grandson, Blaine Stevenson.
Services will be held at 3 pm on Sunday at Harris Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Thomas officiating. Entombment with military honors will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be John Paul Goodman, III, Jonathan Baker, Cliff Jay, Chris Crawford, Willie Cooper, Mike Major, Wes Brown and Sam Stevenson, III.
The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home on Saturday from 6-8 pm.
