Charles R. Worthy, 87, of Greenwood, husband of Joyce Brownlee Worthy, passed away on May 17, 2026.
Born on August 27, 1938, in Tucker, Georgia, he was the son of Terrell and Erna Still Worthy.
Charles lived a life marked by dedication and love. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and had a fulfilling career as a railroad conductor for over 50 years, a role that perfectly suited his passion for trains and transportation. Charles was a devoted husband to his wife, Joyce, with whom he cherished countless moments. A long-time member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, he found joy in being a part of his church family. Charles was a member of Greenwood Masonic Lodge 91, where he was a past master, and Mathews Masonic Lodge 358.
Along with his wife, he is survived by step daughters, Amanda McCabe and Sophie Conway; and friend, Will Beauford (Gina).
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Gibson Worthy.
