Charles Yates, 71, of 111 Hailey Court, husband of Vicki Miller Yates, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at his home. Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Fredrick �Bill� Prince Yates and Bessie Viola Williams Yates. Charles was a U. S. Army veteran and retired from Moore Business Forms. He was a member of Parkland and Star Fort Golf Club. Charles was of the Christian faith. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Sexton and Sylvia Garren; and two brothers, Jerry Yates and Billy Yates. Surviving are a son, Charles Andrew �Drew� Yates of Charlotte, NC; a daughter, Kristi Holloway of Greenwood; five sisters, Betty Barger, Rachel Harrison, Nancy Harter, all of Greenwood, Jackie Covington of Ninety Six and Melissa Jimenez of NC; two brothers, Leonard Yates and Prince Yates, both of Greenwood; two grandchildren, Makenzie Holloway and Bratcher Holloway; one great grandson, Stuart Gottesman; and two special grandchildren, L. J. and Lonna Ann Holloway. Flowers may be sent or memorials may be made to Ark Hospice, 310-H Calhoun Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29649. The family is at the home.
