Charlie William Davis, 77, of East Idlewood Circle, West Columbia and formerly of Greenwood, husband of Beverly Davis, died Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Lexington Medical Center.
Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late William Vaughn and Fredna Vernelle Davis and was raised at Connie Maxwell Children's Home. Charlie served in the US Air Force and was formerly employed by Moore Business Forms, Drinkard Printing and was an electrician. He was of the Baptist faith.
Charlie is survived by his wife; his son, Tracy Davis (Jeannie) of Greenwood; stepdaughters, Renee Leaphart (Rick) of Columbia and Haley Cain (Adam) of Washington, DC; a sister, Joan Latimer (Jimmy) of Belton; a brother, Sammy Davis (Janice) of Plum Branch; eight grandchildren, Tray Davis (Christy), Justin Davis, Blake Davis (Jaida), Meghan Leaphart, Mallory Leaphart Huffstetler (Chase), Morgan Leaphart, Riley Cain and McKenzie Cain; and eight great grandchildren, Austin, Dylan, Ava, William, Maci, Knox, Lilly and Alyse.
Charlie was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Judy of Columbia and a great grandson, Gaines.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Harley Family Center, 1101 Main St S, Greenwood, with the Rev. Shirley Surrett officiating.
Those in attendance are asked to follow all CDC guidelines for social distancing and masks will be required.
