Charles "Chris" Samuel Smith, 57, of Hodges, passed away, Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at his home.

Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Charles Samuel Smith, Sr. and Barbara Ann Stennett Smith. Chris was a former machine operator with Monsanto.

Surviving are his children, Courtney Varner (Bryan) and Jordan Smith; sisters, Kim Shirley (Larry) and Vanessa Long; and brother, Bert Dodgen.

The family will hold a memorial service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Jonathan Shook officiating.
