Helen Christine Goodin Elrod, 93, of 303 Jackson Street, widow of Harland Elrod, died Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Ninety Six, she was a daughter of the late William Luther "Daddy Lee" and Minnie Davis Goodin. She retired from Wesley Commons Healthcare (formerly The Greenwood Methodist Home) and was a member of South Greenwood Assembly of God Church.

She was first married to the late Cecil Edward Green and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are her daughter, Frances JoAnn LaPlace of Elkhart, IN; two sons, John Michael Green of Greenwood and James Edward Green of Niles, MI; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Greenwood Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum with the Rev. Carroll Harrison officiating.

The family will receive friends in the chapel mausoleum on Thursday from 2 to 3 p.m.
