Christine Knight McCurry, 84, of 437 E. Cambridge Avenue, widow of the late Claude Jerry McCurry, died Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at NHC of Greenwood.
Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Claude Daniel Knight and Emma Rice Knight. She was the co-owner and operator of Jerry's Tire Repair and a life member of New Life Worship Center in Abbeville.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Douglas McCurry; three sisters, Gladys Beasley, Doris Cox, and Sarah Carver; and two brothers, Larry and Ralph Knight.
Surviving are her children, Butch Power, Lynn McCurry Owens (Renaye), both of Greenwood and Jean Hayes (Billy) of Clinton; six brothers, Jimmy Knight, Ray Knight (Diane), Uvil Knight, all of Greenwood, Bobby Knight of Monks Corner, Morris Knight (Debra) of Simpsonville and Truman Knight (Ann) of Raleigh, NC; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Morris Knight and Rev. Ricky Knight officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Billy Nicholson, Kyle Yates, Lynn Owens, Renaye Owens, Johnny Magaha, and Cole Nicholson.
Honorary escort will be the staff of Uptown Seniors and the staff of NHC Station One.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
