Obituary

Cynthia Ann Smith, 62, died Monday, February 16, 2026 at her home.

Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Sidney O'dell Smith and Edna Cannon Livingston Smith. Cindy was a 1981 graduate of Ninety Six High School and received an Associates degree in Accounting from Piedmont Technical College in 1985. She went on to receive a degree in Respiratory Therapy and worked with the Laurens County Hospital in the Emergency Department from 1989-1995. In 1995, she went to work in the office of Dr. Akhtar Hussain and had a fulfilling career until her retirement in 2018.

Cindy was a member of Jordan Memorial Baptist Church and enjoyed attending Bible Way Fellowship Church.

Cindy is survived by her sisters, Paula Haynes (Jimmy) and Marcia Day; nephew, Johnny Haynes (Tambi); niece, Susie Morrow (Andy); great nieces, Brandy Speake (Adam), Jessica Williams (Dusty), Katie Thornton (Tyler), Allison Barnes (Cory) and Kayla Key (Tyler); 13 great great nieces and nephews; and her best friends, Connie and Danny Crawford, James and Freida Jones.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul Livingston and George "Hopsing" Livingston and her childhood best friend, Dolly Leopard.

Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Earl Kelly officiating.

Pallbearers will be Dalton Williams, Dusty Williams, Cory Barnes, Johnny Haynes, Andy Morrow and David Collins.

Honorary escort will be Dr. and Mrs. Akhtar Hussain, Dr. Patsy Sadler, Dr. Pat Goodman, Adam Speake, Tyler Thornton and Tyler Key.

Special thanks is extended to the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont, Dr. Ruiling Yuan and the staff of the Self Regional Cancer Center for their loving care and kindness to Cindy and her family.

The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home on Friday from 1:00-2:00 p.m.

The family is at the home of Paula and Jimmy Haynes, 1114 Tillman Territory Road, Ninety Six.
