Claudine Balchin, 87, of 101 Allis Avenue, died Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Hospice of the Upstate, Anderson. Born in Elberton, GA, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Mattie Chandler Balchin. She was retired from Greenwood Mills, Ninety Six Plant and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are a daughter, Martha Ellen Morris of Elberton, GA; a son, Paul Anderson and his wife, Jannie, of Iva; two sisters, Martha Miner of Abbeville and Sue Bailey of Elberton; ten grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Anderson and brothers, T. O. Balchin, Bud Balchin, J. E. Balchin, Charlie Balchin and Jack Balchin.
