Clifton Eakin, 89, of Greenwood, passed away on February 4, 2026, at Hospice House, surrounded by family.
The youngest of 7 siblings, Clifton was born in Greenwood, and was a son of the late Lucian Carrol Eakin and Ruby McCombs Eakin.
Clifton was co-owner of Ethridge Monument Company for many years. He took immense pride in his work and was well-respected among his community. He was an active member of Rehoboth Methodist Church, where he both sang in the choir and served on the board. He found peace in the outdoors and could often be found fishing, gardening, and caring for his yard. He enjoyed dancing and was a member of the Greenwood Moose Club. Above all, he was a family man and visited his loved ones as much as he could. He adored being a grandfather and loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren very much.
He is survived by a son, Tony Eakin (Beth); grandchildren, Courtney Leopard (Scott Sowell), Erin Baker (Jonathan), and Cody Eakin; great grandchildren, Avis Leopard, Adele Leopard and Amelia Baker; and son-in-law, Daryl "Duck" Dodgen (Mary).
Along with his parents and siblings, he was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Ethridge Eakin; and daughter, Teresa E. Dodgen.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Rehoboth Methodist Church officiated by Reverend Zach Metts. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rehoboth Methodist Church, 1808 Callison Hwy, Greenwood, SC 29646.
The family will be at the home.
