Clyde Theodore Merchant, Jr., 65, of Old Charleston Road, Ninety Six, husband of Laura Lynn Tankersley Merchant, died Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Newberry County Hospital.

Born in Greenwood County, he was the son of the late Clyde T. Merchant, Sr. and Betty Womack Merchant. Clyde was a member of Beacon of Hope Church.

He is survived by his wife of the home; two daughters, Alisha Pereira (Edmund) of Calhoun Falls and Kristie Leigh Merchant of Evans, GA; two sisters, Cathryn Fisher (Bobby) of Waterloo and Sophie Miller (Joel) of Saluda County; and eleven grandchildren, Bailey, Abigail, Darlene, Bryson, Chayla, Wyatt, Caylee, Kason, Isabella, Jeremiah and David.

A memorial service will be held following church service at 12 noon on Sunday at Beacon of Hope Church.
