Daniel
Roods
Sep 18, 1946 — Oct 7, 2026
Greenwood
Daniel Charles Roods, 80, passed away on October 7, 2026, in Greenwood, SC.
Born in Ft. Ann, New York, he was the son of Harold and Geraldine Burke Roods.
Daniel was a proud Vietnam War veteran and served in the United States Navy. An executive in the paper industry, he brought vision and expertise to his career for decades. For many years, he called Pell City, Alabama, home, investing countless hours into making the community a better place through active involvement in local civic organizations and the Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the White Flag Club at Talladega Superspeedway and was a loyal fan of the Auburn Tigers. He spent years coaching softball and basketball teams for his girls, always cheering them on from the sidelines. That devotion only grew with time, and he loved nothing more than watching his girls and grandchildren excel in both sports and band performances
Daniel is survived by his wife, Mabel Vanarsdal Roods; daughters, Katie Duncan (Chad), Jennifer Halverson (Eric), and Danielle Roods; sisters, Carolyn Patton (Dick), and Gerriann Cotter; grandchildren, Bryce Duncan, Chloe Ann Duncan, Ann Marie Halverson; and Hadley Halverson; and his beloved dog, Cosmo.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Melissa Roods and brother in law, Bill Cotter.
