John Daniel "Danny" Summey, 70, of 102 Sunset Drive, Honea Path, husband of Gayle Minor Summey passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 at Hospice House.

Born in Transylvania, NC, he was a son of the late Roy D. and Georgie Satcher Summey. Danny retired from Greenwood CPW and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

He was twice married, first to the late Brenda Hastings Summey and was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy S. Corley.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are his children: Jeff Summey of Greenwood, Tracie S. Taylor of Griffin, GA, Jason Palmer of Greenwood and Craig Palmer (Ashley) of Hodges; a brother, Bryan Summey (Elaine); a brother-in-law, Jimmy Corley; three grandchildren: Brooke Summey, Ty Taylor and Mayson White; a great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 4 pm on Monday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Debra Griffis-Woodberry officiating.

The family will receive friends before the service from 3 -4 pm.
