David Earl Jones, 81, of Hodges, husband of Deborah Jones, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024, at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Indianapolis, IN, he was the son of the late Russell Earl Jones and Norma Therron Merz Jones. David was a U. S. Army veteran having served during Vietnam and was a Purple Heart recipient for his bravery and sacrifice. Throughout his life, he remained committed to his family, finding joy in crossword puzzles, and was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his responsibilities. He was a graduate of Purdue University, retired from General Motors after working over 40 years and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are a son, Steven Jones (Julie); sister, Beverly Fixler (Harvey); and grandchildren, Joshua Jones, Jacob Jones and Morganne Jones.

The family will hold a memorial service at 11am on Thursday at Westminster Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends following the service.
