David Michael Rylee, Sr., 71, formerly of Fitzgerald, GA, died Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at Lexington Medical Center.
Born in Corning, NY, he was a son of the late Thomas Arthur and Grace Mary Young Rylee. David was a US Air Force veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. He attended Ben Hill Technical College and had been employed with Union Carbide/Kemet. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 536 and a lifetime member of the NRA. He attended Fitzgerald Methodist Church.
David was preceded in death by a son, Scott Thomas Rylee; a sister, Patricia Rylee Griffin and his former spouse, Samaria Rylee Caldwell.
He is survived by a son, David M. Rylee, Jr. and his fiancée, Amber D'alpe Jordan and Amber's children, Lillian Jordan and Jonathan Jordan, all of Chapin; a sister, Pam Bateman (Bruce) of Franklin, TN; brothers, Richard Rylee (Hana) of Dothan, AL and Terry Rylee of Atlanta, GA; brother-in-law, Fred Griffin of Greenwood; a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services, with military honors, will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday at Oakbrook Memorial Park.
