William David Wells, 75, widower of Annie Ruth Scott Wells, went to be with his heavenly Father on Friday, June 10, 2016 at his home.

Born in Ninety Six, he was a son of the late Leroy and Alice Tucker Wells. David retired from Greenwood Mills – Harris Plant, after 40 years and he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a member of "The Grand Ole Gospel" and was and Evangelist. David loved people and had so much compassion for Christ, he shared his testimony with others through song and witnessing at the nursing homes, the Faith Home, and hospitals. He was truly "One of a Kind".

Surviving are one son, Freddie Pope and his wife Deborah of Hodges; four daughters, June Corley and her husband Ronnie of Ninety Six, Cindy Horton and her husband Jerry, Jane Harvey and her husband Miley, and Elaine Allen, all of Hodges; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; three sisters, Louise Baldwin of Atlanta, Alice Terry of Greenwood, and Allene McDowell of Greenwood; and three brothers, Leroy Wells of Pelzer, Charles Wells of Greenwood, and Bobby Lee Wells of Ninety Six.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Gerald Pope and Danny Pope; three brothers, James Wells, Thomas Wells, and Frank Wells.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Shirley Surrett officiating. Burial will be held at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Britt Pope, Robby Rodgers, Jerry Wayne Horton, Jr., Rick Waites, Brent Horne, Richie Allen, Brence Richey, and Gil Ketron.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Tri County, Dee, Angela, and Cody for their love and care for their loved one.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
