Dayne Rauton, 80, of 300 Davis Avenue, husband of Lynn Gilliam-Rauton, died Friday, April 12, 2013, at his home. Born in Ninety Six, he was a son of the late Ransom McCarthy and Carrie Bell Bishop Rauton. Dayne was an insurance salesman with Independent Life Insurance Company, where he was the recipient of many awards. He was also a singer/songwriter and won many songwriting awards. He was of the Baptist faith. Surviving is his wife of the home; children, Danny Rauton and Tabitha DuBois (Eddie), both of Greenwood; sister, Nancy Hall (Bob) of Atlanta, GA; brothers, Randy Rauton (Joanne) of Atlanta, GA and Ransom �Red� Rauton (Robbie) of North Myrtle Beach; stepdaughters, Donna Perry of Greenwood, Pam Medlock (Randy) of Spartanburg, Penny Harris (Joe) of Greenwood, Julie Alewine (Cliff Cox) of Donalds, Marion Williams of Sandy Springs and Lucky Stidham (Jim) of Anderson; stepsons, Jerry Kelley of North Carolina and Larry Deer of Sandy Springs; granddaughters, Brooke Rauton of Georgia and Emily Shyann DuBois of Greenwood; grandsons, Philip Paul Alewine of Donalds and Benjamin Dayne DuBois of Greenwood; numerous step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by wives, Betty Kelley Rauton and Thelma Deer Rauton; a son, Christopher Rauton and a sister, Peggy Edmonds. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel. Pallbearers will be Danny Rauton, Philip Alewine, Tommy Rauton, Alex Edmonds, J. C. Parham and Aaron Hall. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. The family is at the home.
