Guy Donald Copeland, Sr., 76, of 105 La Port Drive, Greenwood, died Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Don was born in Jacksonville, FL, to the late Guy C. and Nell Davis Copeland. He was a U. S. Marine veteran and moved to Greenwood in 1961 where he made his home. Don retired after his plant closed, Grimes Aero Space. After his retirement in 1999, he traveled with his wife all across the USA and also visited several different countries. He always loved to travel and see what was just down the road.

Don was the loving husband of Betty Gilner Copeland, she was the light and love of his life. Together they have two sons, Guy Copeland, Jr. of Greenwood and Jeff Copeland of Elgin, who will miss him very much; two granddaughters, Heather Morales and Ashley Copeland; a brother, Robert Copeland of Sylvan Beach, NY; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery on from Saturday from 1 to 2 pm.
