Edgar Donald "Don" Farmer, 85, of Greenwood, husband of Cleo Canfield Farmer, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at NHC of Greenwood.

Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late William Haskell Farmer and Lessie Mae Land Farmer. Don retired from Greenwood Mills and formerly attended Providence Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was married to his beloved wife for 30 years and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Don enjoyed fishing and also singing and dancing even though he wouldn't let others see him in the act.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Grady Steadman; and several brothers and sisters.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, James Roy Sanders, Jr. (Debra) of Friendship, TN, Lynn Steadman of Greenwood and Freda Farmer Caylor (Matt) of Virginia Beach, VA; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ben Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Roy Sanders, Jr., Bobby Canfield, Darrel Porterfield, Jason McClendon, Gray McClendon and Franky Coats.

Honorary escort will be the Hardees Breakfast Group, Hwy 72.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home before the service from 12-1 pm.
