Donald Bruce McKellar, 88, of 127 Sheffield Road, husband of Susannah Boykin McKellar, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2012 at Hospice House. Born in Greenwood, he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin McKellar and Katherine �Katie� Edmonds McKellar. He was a graduate of Greenwood High School and the University of South Carolina. Donald earned his MBA at the University of Mississippi and was a U. S. Navy veteran of WWII. He was the former managing director of the Greenwood Community Theatre for 35 years and taught Speech and Theatre at Lander University. Donald was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he was a past deacon and in the church choir for over 65 years. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Linda Louise M. Oliver and Kaye M. Martin; a son-in-law, John Martin, Jr.; and a daughter-in-law, Anne B. McKellar. Surviving are his wife of the home; a son, Donald �Donny� McKellar and his wife Tracy of Greenwood; a daughter, Anna M. Makar and her husband Tony of Beaufort, SC; a son-in-law, Rev. Woody Oliver and his wife Dena; two sisters, Daughty Lawrence Granade and Susanne Heyward, both of Greenwood; grandchildren, Trey Martin, Meredith Rives Martin, Kate Oliver Bechtold, Adrienne Oliver, Bailey Oliver, Olivia Oliver, Tradd Makar, Cameron Makar and Lucie Makar; and a great grandson, Saylor Jack Bechtold. Pallbearers will be Bruce Lawrence, Kellar Lawrence, Frank Lawrence, Ben Lawrence, Bobby Temple, Russell Lawrence, Jack Lawrence and Joseph Beaudrot. Honorary pallbearers will be John Lund, Charlie Watkins, Cliff Fagan, Mr. & Mrs. David Simonsen, Mr. & Mrs. Calhoun Mays, Jr., Mr. & Mrs. Calhoun Mays, III, Mr. & Mrs. Harold Lumley, Bill & Peggy Gregg, Elizabeth Herndon, Mr & Mrs. William John Park and Susie Davis and the members of the John Knox Sunday School Class. The body will be placed in the church at 3 pm on Saturday.
