Lawton Donald Timmerman, 76, of 208 Augusta Circle, widower of Hazel Coleman Timmerman, died Thursday, October 31, 2013 after a brief illness, peacefully into eternal rest into his Savior�s arms at the Hospice House of the Piedmont. Born in his great grandfather�s home in Langley, he was the son of the late Lawton Benjamin Timmerman and Eva Harris Timmerman. Donald worked throughout his teen years for his uncle Lonnie Timmerman in the furniture refinishing business. He also worked several years to support his family at Greenwood Mills. His second career was a homebuilder by his father�s side and he was a creative craftsman. He and his son Keith opened Top-Notch Cabinets in Greenwood in 1983 and conducted business there for 18 years. Donald retired to lovingly attend to his wife during an extended illness. He enjoyed playing music on the keyboard and was a member of the �Just Us� band with several members of his family, including his brother-in-love, Herbert Coleman. Donald was a Christian in the Baptist faith. On Monday, October 28, 2013, Donald rededicated his life to his Lord and Savior, at his son Keith�s house, and was baptized by his grandson Wade Timmerman. Surviving are three sons and three daughters-in-love: Keith Timmerman (Susan), Todd Timmerman (Shawn), and Mark Timmerman (Robin)all of Greenwood; one sister, Linda Timmerman Horne(Harold) of Greenwood; four grandsons; Reed Timmerman, Chase Timmerman, Wade Timmerman (Kayla), and Blake Timmerman, all of Greenwood; one granddaughter, Holly Timmerman of Greenwood; and two great-grandchildren, Austin and Sydney of Greenwood. He is predeceased by the love of his life, his wife, Hazel Coleman Timmerman and his parents. Pallbearers will be Reed Timmerman, Jay Jordan, Chase Timmerman, Wade Timmerman, Gage Timmerman and Blake Timmerman. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request that flowers be omitted and donations be made to HospiceCare of the Piedmont; 408 West Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, South Carolina, 29646.
