Obituary

Charles Donald "Donny" Justus, Jr., 78, of Grand Harbor, died Sunday, December 8, 2024 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Hendersonville, NC, he was a son of the late Charles Donald Justus, Sr. and Margaret Ham Justus. Donny was a 1965 graduate of Hendersonville High School and attended the University of North Carolina, Asheville. He served in the NC National Guard during the Vietnam War.

Donny was a lifelong homebuilder, beginning at an early age working in the family business and became the 4th generation of Justus Builders. He was a member of the NC and SC Homebuilders Associations and served as President of the Hendersonville Chapter.

Donny is survived by his wife of 46 years, Toni Dellinger Justus; his son, Charles Donald "Chip" Justus, III (Jessica); his grandson, Conor Stone Justus; his granddaughter, Margot Rey Justus; his furbaby, Jagger; his sisters, Dianne Derrick (Michael), Vicki Ott (Eric) and Jenny Daly; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Chip and Tamra Dellinger; nieces and nephews, Paul Gash (Becky), Stuart Gash (Leah), Matthew Ott, Abney Coleman, Chad Dellinger (Katie), Casey Tipps (Austin) and Carly Caballero (Gian); and many great nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Tom Ott; a niece, Megan Ott; a nephew, Jeff Ott and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Terri and Abney Coleman.

A celebration of life will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on February 15, 2025 at the Harley Family Center, 1101 Main St S.
