Doris Horne Quarles, 89, of 212 Woodhaven Court, widow of Harry Dennis Quarles, died Sunday, August 28, 2016 at her home.
Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Walter Jackson Horne and Mattie Lou Deloach Horne. Doris was a retired beautician and was a charter member of Woodfields Baptist Church.
Surviving are her son, Dennis Quarles (Harriett) of Greenwood; two daughters, Bobbie Scott of Simpsonville and Susan Tettis of Greenwood; seven grandchildren, Todd Scott (Lesley), Julie Hanks (Joey), Michelle Collins (Michael), Kristi Waters (Robbie), Sarah Bell (David), Nick Tettis and Carla Tettis; a step grandchild, Don Bryant; eight great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cynthia Denise Quarles; a great grandchild, Isabella Hope Tettis and siblings, Irby Horne, Floyd Ray Horne, Moile Christian, Larry Horne, Mildred Capps, Graham Horne and Iris Golding.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bob Miller officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Norman Capps, Ricky Horne, Eddie Christian, Timmy Knowlton, Robbie Waters and Jimmy Bell.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m.
Family members are at their respective homes.
