Dorothy Hammonds Montgomery, 88, 110 Cape Charles Court, Harbor Heights, Ninety Six, wife of Ernest Montgomery, died Friday, February 6, 2009 at Hospice House. Born in Jackson, TN, she was a daughter of the late Eddie and Thelma Scammerhorn Hammonds. She was a graduate of Jackson High School and West Tennessee Business College and was retired from Holiday Inn, Jackson. She was a member of the Harbor Heights Garden Club and Siloam Baptist Church, where she was a member of the T.E.L. Sunday School Class. Surviving is her husband of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Sandra Smith of Cross Hill; a daughter, Anne Laster of St. Augustine, FL; stepdaughters, Carolyn A. Noble and her husband, P.A., of Tupelo, MS and Lynn Dorris and her husband, David, of Maryville, TN; a stepson, Gregory Montgomery and his wife, Michelle, of Arlington, VA; nine grandchildren, Terry Henson, Laura Miller, Rebecca Weatherford, Stephanie Ann Noble, Deborah Keith, Jonathan Dorris, Joseph Dorris, David Chiesa and Susan Mendoza; and 11 grandchildren. She was twice married, first to the late Ed Boldt and was also preceded in death by her brother, Bill Hammonds of Jackson, TN and a grandson, James Chiesa of Mission Vieio, CA.
