Dorthey "Dot" Minsker Guitreau, 79, resident of Ashley Square, widow of Curtis J. Guitreau, Jr, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024.

Born in Detroit, MI on December 17, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Joseph N. Minsker and Althea Mae Clanton Parent.

Dot was a force to be reckoned with – known for her fiery spirit and outspoken nature, she lived life on her terms. Her life was one of hard work and determination. She and her children assisted her husband with his newspaper route for over a decade, a testament to her strong work ethic. Driving was a family affair, as they all learned behind the wheel during those early morning deliveries. Curtis found humor for playful scares of startling Dot on those early mornings as well. Despite this mischievous side, there was no questioning the love shared within the family. Dot was a loving mother and grandmother. Later in life, she worked as a lead cashier for Winn Dixie for over fifteen years. In her free time, she could be found enjoying the thrill of playing slot machines, a favorite pastime that brought her joy.

She is survived by her children, Joseph "Joe" Guitreau (Kierra), Curtis Guitreau, III (Caitlin), Bobby Guitreau (Ginger), and Russell Guitreau (Victoria); daughter-in-law, Nancy Guitreau; grandchildren, Matthew Dale Guitreau (Anna), Anthony Michael Guitreau, Joshua Andrew Guitreau, Joseph N. Guitreau, Jr, and Russell Guitreau, Jr, Michael Guitreau, Destiny Guitreau, Jessie Guitreau, Paige Guitreau, Curist Guitreau, and Aubree Guitreau; great grandchildren, Zoey Shea, Hannah Nicole Guitreau, and Nolan Curtis Guitreau.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Parent.
