Dorothy "Dot" Henry Bowie, of Greenwood, widow of Durell C. Bowie, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Hospice of Laurens County.
Born in Greenwood, she was the daughter of the late Dotte and Ideal Owens Henry. Dot became an accomplished insurance agent, serving her clients with dedication and integrity. In her retirement, she continued to work at Dollar Tree, where her warm spirit and friendly demeanor brightened the days of colleagues and customers alike until the age of 88. Dot was also a proud member of the South Carolina Women's Insurance Agent association, reflecting her passion for her profession. She was a devoted member of South Main Baptist Church, where she made lifelong friends and contributed her time and talents.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Sarah Henry, Mary-Nette Readett, JD Henry, Billy Henry and Bobby Henry; daughter-in-law, Lisa Bowie; and son-in-law, Ken Wright.
Surviving are her children, Robin B. Wright and Tony Bowie; grandchildren, Beau Wright (Becky), Andy Wright (Valerie), Tara Bowie, Brandon Bowie and Benjamin Bowie (Katy); great grandchildren, Alana Gaddy (Wyatt), Corbin Wright (Leah), Trinity Wright, Micah Bowie, Malia Bowie, Kacie Wright and Maddox Wright; and a great-great granddaughter, Emery Gaddy.
Services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. Toby Frost officiating. The family will receive friends before the service at the funeral home from 1-2 pm.
