Douglas Luther McKinney, Sr., 73, of 2004 Hwy 221 South, widower of Marion Jean Watkins McKinney, died Saturday, May 2, 2015 at his home. Born in McCormick, he was the son of the late Luther and Louise Seigler McKinney. Doug was a US Army veteran and was a former member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. He retired from Greenwood Mills-Mathews Plant after working 44 years and was in the Quarter Century Club. He was a member of Refiners Fire Church. Surviving are a son, Douglas Luther McKinney, Jr. of Anderson; a sister, Linda Jurney of Martinez, GA; a granddaughter and his caregiver for the past 5 years, Ashley "Nikki " Calkins; and three great grandchildren, Jasmine Shipes, Travis Shipes, Jr. and Brayden Calkins, all of the home.
